ABOUT THIS SANTA

Ooooh he's fun to make but he's BIG. Well worth the effort though. I've had this pattern for years and generally manage to make at least a few each year. I have been known to commandeer my husband to help with the stuffing and he doesn't seem to mind! LOTS of polyfill in this one. He is a bit of a chub actually. I used to sell him through a coffee shop and they told me people used to go and get him off the shelf and sit down with him on their knees and start bouncing him up and down and talking to him.

Traditional style with removable clothing that can be washed but as always, if these dolls are properly looked after they should last forever. I made my first one back in about 1992 and he is still going, along with the first BIG one (nearly 5 feet) I made in 1990. Both get brought out each Christmas and give a lot of pleasure to our visitors.

He has embroidered and sculpted facial features which I hope you can see in the pictures. I'm not the world's best photographer but you can also get an idea of how I do the faces if you look at the Swaggie Santa.

I usually like to fill the bodies with woodshavings because this gives greater weight and makes him really solid but this will depend on where you live. No go for overseas I think. So... I have the body all ready to assemble and will just finish off when we decide what you want him filled with. Just give me a yell and we can discuss your requirements.
